Hinduism faces a crisis.

  • There are over 1.2 billion Hindus in the world.
  • Of these, perhaps 5% (60 million) are genuine spiritual seekers.
  • But how many authentic, living gurus exist today? A handful?
  • Even if each guru initiates 1,000 disciples, that’s barely 10,000 people.

That leaves tens of millions of seekers without guidance.

And with such a demand for spiritual guidance, instances of fraud have increased dramatically.

The Hinduphobia

Many so-called “gurus” operate without accountability — spreading misinformation, exploiting trust, manipulating followers, and sometimes even engaging in criminal behavior.

Devotees — conditioned by tradition, bound by dependency, drawn by the promise of community, and at times trapped by Stockholm Syndrome — often struggle to break free from fraudulent gurus and their groups.

Such behavior has contributed to Hinduphobia, casting a shadow over a faith that has stood the test of time and brought liberation to countless seekers.

What is the Solution?

When mistrust is widespread, the answer isn’t somewhere “out there.” Nor is there wisdom in rejecting spirituality altogether.

Instead, the solution lies in turning inward — through self-initiation.

Self-initiation is not a modern invention but an authentic Hindu path rooted in the Sri Vidya tradition.

What Exactly is Self-Initiation?

Most mantras traditionally require a guru’s initiation (Deeksha), drawing many seekers toward living gurus and institutions.

But Self-Initiation offers a different path. It means initiating yourself into a mantra to take ownership of your spiritual growth.

Think of it like this:

  • A guru’s initiation is like receiving a temporary financial grant.
  • Self-Initiation is like earning your own income — it’s steady, empowering, and self-reliant.

This path of self-initiation allows you to grow at your own pace, in your own space, through the self-guided discipline of Sri Vidya Sadhana.

Do the Scriptures Approve?

The scriptures recognize and sanction this practice. Here’s what the renowned scripture Mantra Mahārṇava states about self-initiation:

Chanting a mantra in a temple — particularly a Shiva temple — during a solar or lunar eclipse is considered self-initiation into that mantra.

Self-initiation is dharmic. It is scriptural. It is personal — and above all, it is safe.

No-Human-Guru Approach

This path of self-initiation is what we call the No-Human-Guru Approach. We do not depend on living gurus or spiritual institutions.

Instead, we invoke the Guru Tattva — the latent teacher within each of us. Through this awakened inner guide, we connect directly to the Divine.

This is not a rejection of the Guru Tradition.

We continue to revere the awakened masters of the past — such as Sri Sarada Devi — who have transcended human limitations to become divine presences.

Join the Movement

The Path of Self-Initiation is a safety awareness campaign — a movement created to protect you and address the root cause of Hinduphobia.

Here, there are no gurus or groupism.

No brainwashing or gaslighting.

To join this initiative, all you need to do is take a stand:

Simply pledge to trust the Divine more than human gurus. That’s it.

To follow through on that pledge:

  • Learn from anyone, but do so online — wisdom can come from anywhere, but your safety should never be compromised.
  • Stop chasing initiations — never risk your safety when safer paths like self-initiation are available.
  • Stop seeking a sense of “belonging” in gurus — true gurus remain detached and teach their students to do the same.
  • Emotional dependence — if disciples incessantly praise their guru or read exclusively their guru-related books, it’s often a sign that the guru fosters emotional dependence, not spiritual freedom.
  • Unsubscribe from “brain-washing” groups and channels — when followers promote only their guru or their organization, ignoring the broader Hindu teachings, know it as a conversion tactic: an anti-Hindu practice.

If this vision resonates with you… Join the movement.

And if you feel called to help protect others, you don’t even need to mention SD Revive  — simply share everything outlined on this page.

That alone could be enough for one more lost seeker to find some light.
